Athletic, sensitive and keen to join in
Vizslas are intelligent gundogs and often form close family bonds. Without exercise and mental tasks, they may become frustrated.
Everyday life
Plan at least two hours of activity, scent games and training. Their short coat offers little insulation; dry them well after swimming.
When you need to go out
Being alone needs gradual practice. The RSPCA advises no more than four hours at a time; puppies and some adults need much shorter intervals. Arrange company during longer absences.
Day-to-day care
Brush the short coat weekly. Keep ears clean and provide a warm, dry place to rest.

Measurements describe adult dogs and are a guide. Lines and individuals can vary; ask about the parents’ health, temperament and daily life.
Health
Discuss health checks recommended for this line with a vet, particularly hips and eyes. Breed tendencies cannot diagnose an individual dog.
